National Model Program Manager Change:  The National Model Program Manager, Mary Jensen, is retiring from the Iowa DOT on March 26, 2010.  With her retirement, she will no longer be performing duties for the National Model.  The new National Model Program Manager will be Lieutenant Tony Batcheller from the Iowa DOT's Motor Vehicle Enforcement division. Please help me in wishing Mary the best of luck in her future endeavors and welcoming Tony into his new role.

New and Improved National Model Knowledge Base Ready: The National Model Knowledge Base (formerly the TraCS Knowledge Base) is now ready to be used by the National Model community. The Knowledge Base is still meant to be used only by the state/provincial agency responsible for National Model software in your state/province but it now contains forums for all of the National Model software offerings including forums for posting educational material such as code snippets and training videos.  If you are not already registered to use the National Model Knowledge Base, register here.

Arkansas and Florida to Convert to TraCS 10 in 2009: In addition to Alaska, Arizona, Iowa, Manitoba, and North Dakota, Arkansas and Florida will begin their TraCS 7.3 to TraCS 10 conversion process this year as well.

TraCS 10 Nationwide Release:  TraCS 10 is now available for download from this site in the download section.  There are five states/provinces converting from TraCS 7.3 to TraCS 10 this year, Alaska, Arizona, Iowa, Manitoba, and North Dakota.

National Model Steering Committee Meeting:  The last National Model Steering Committee Meeting was June 25 - 26 in West Des Moines, IA.  There were approximately 35 attendees from nine states/provinces with approximately 30 participants attending remotely from an additional six states.
